You fire up Inventor 2015, greeted with the fancy new loading screen, Inventor starts, but then all you have is a white screen and a bunch of tools you can't select – nightmare!
This appears to be a problem synonymous with Inventor 2015, and tends to occur randomly amongst different customers. Fortunately, there is a simple way to solve this problem for good! If you find yourself in this less-than-ideal situation, here's what you need to do:
1. Right-click on the task bar and select Start Task Manager
2. In the Task Manager, click on the Processes tab
3. Browse through the list of processes and you should find AdCefBrowser.exe twice in the list – right-click on each of the instances of this process and select End Process
At this stage, Inventor will now be usable and you'll be able to work with the program. However, if you ignore the next step, you'll more than likely experience the issue again!
4. Go to Tools > Application Options > General and uncheck Show My Home on startup.
It's as simple as that and you won't have any issues with the slightly troublesome My Home window from now on! We're told a solution is imminent – due in the coming weeks in Service Pack 2.
