The second Service Pack for Autodesk Inventor 2014 has now been released.
This Service Pack can be applied to Autodesk Inventor 2014, Autodesk Inventor Professional 2014, Autodesk Factory Design Suite Premium and Ultimate 2014, Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium and Ultimate 2014 which is applicable for all operating systems and languages.
As ever the Service Pack is based on customer feedback and includes all the fixes included in Service Pack 1. So next time you encounter an error reports make sure to send them so Autodesk can consider these when developing the next update.
There are a number of issues that have been addressed in this update including:
The developers at Autodesk have worked on the occurrences that Inventor exits unexpectedly when you delete multiple midsurfaces simultaneously and when you export some assembly files with midsurface shells to STEP format.
They have also addressed the occasions when artificial stiffness occurs because of line-on-line geometry in bonded.
As for API
You should no longer find that using i-Drop fails to drag and drop a component into an assembly as well as the server communication error that you may have found when you tried to replace a component from Content Centre while Table View is enabled.
It can be annoying to find that when your software says that your license is unavailable that your customised options revert but with this new Service Pack this shouldn't occur anymore. This is great news for anyone who has a number of personalised selections within Inventor.
In the previous Service Pack it was found that when you were completing an assembly modelling task Inventor would close unexpectedly. These issues have been sorted and you should find that the programme no longer closes when you click the additional geometry of Simplify Define envelopes after loading Express, as well as when you create a shrinkwrap of an assembly containing a part with a composite in the Repair Environment and its source feature is deleted.
Content Centre has seems to have been updated so that your migrated custom content isn't missing and it would shut down unexpectedly when you access the library.
Autodesk have worked on a number of other issues that were found whilst using Inventor to give you a better experience when utilising the software.
