This year, I had the opportunity to present at Autodesk University in Las Vegas, this was a great privilege and honour to be selected.
My class this year focused on achieving automated arrangement drawing outputs from Advance Steel. In the class I shared some of the idea's we use to drive drawing outputs from Advance steel with the use of cameras, dedicated camera types, drawing styles and drawing processes.
Moreover, the focus of this was to make use of the new camera feature in the model views, then link this to a camera type and then a style of drawing and process that into a completed drawing with the view and border.
This combines all the aspects of the management system, the drawing style and process managers and then the prototype files, all tied in with the use of the project explorer tool in Advance steel and the option to turn on the inbuild camera.

Furthermore, my class along with all the others are now on the new Autodesk University website.
This site provides a huge amount of free resources over many different products and the presentations stretch you to view the collaboration of platforms and workflows.
This year there was a lot of focus on modular offsite construction, using leaner construction systems to reduce waste, thus enabling the world to meet the challenge of providing enough infrastructure for its growing population.
There are also many other classes on the site for Advance Steel and collaboration with Advance Steel, Revit, Plant and BIM 360.
To view the PowerPoint I used when presenting my class and to download the handout, just head over to my AU2018 Class page.
If you are looking to grow your knowledge of Autodesk Advance Steel then I’d recommend attending one of Graitec’s many training courses, which cover interoperability, architectural metalwork, cold rolled and much more.
