Advance Steel 2018 – How To Get Plain AutoCAD 2018

For AS2018, this now comes as a True vertical, so one install for product, but how do you get AutoCAD 2018. To do this we would normally expect to have to create a desktop shortcut and then point it to a profile etc. Set up for vanilla.

However, for AS2018, check under the Windows Start menu and you will find AutoCAD 2018 for AS2018. This is a shortcut created by default to allow you to launch Plain AutoCAD.

The short ut is already set up for users, so all they need to do is pin it to the Start menu, or the task bar.

Or they can open the file location and then create a desktop shortcut if so required.

The shortcut comes with a predefined target for the Vanilla profile, that is also already present inside AS2018 under the options > Profile Tab > Vanilla

Running this shortcut either directly from Start menu or from taskbar, desktop will open a plain session of AutoCAD 2018, with not Advance steel ribbon or commands.
